Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions.

  • Who do you work with?

We serve a deliberately limited number of multigenerational families. Many clients have built or inherited significant wealth and are looking for a single point of coordination across all three service areas.

  • How are you compensated?

A single, transparent fee. We do not receive commissions for our recommendations or compensation from the sale of investment products.

  • Where are my assets held?

Your assets remain at your preferred custodian. When opening new accounts, our preferred custodians are Schwab and Fidelity. We never take possession of client funds.

  • Are you a fiduciary?

Yes, at all times and on every recommendation we make. Tred Avon Family Wealth is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment advisor.

  • Do you have an account minimum?

We do not publish a minimum. Engagements are accepted based on fit: whether the work we do is the work the family actually needs. We're glad to have a brief, no-obligation conversation to determine that.

  • How do we begin?

A first conversation, usually a phone call and sometimes a visit. If it makes sense for both sides to continue, we move to a written scope of work before any engagement begins.
