About the firm
A small firm by design.
Tred Avon Family Wealth was founded in 2014 to be the steady center of a small group of families' financial lives. Independent, fee-only, and accountable to no one but the families themselves.
Of this place
A third haven, by name and through action.
Our firm is named for the nearby Tred Avon River, derived from Third Haven after the Friends' meeting that has gathered in our community since the seventeenth century. The pace of the river is the pace of our work: unhurried, exacting, and ever-present.
How we work
The shape of the engagement.
Independent.
An investment adviser firm, SEC-registered since 2015. No parent company and no proprietary funds.
Fee-only.
A single, transparent fee. We do not receive commissions for our recommendations or compensation from the sale of investment products.
Fiduciary.
Held to the fiduciary standard on every recommendation we make.
Small.
A deliberately limited bench, where your advisor answers your call.
Meet the team
CEO & President
Elizabeth "Beth" Spurry
CFP®, CTFA
Beth Spurry founded Tred Avon Family Wealth in 2014, after more than two decades coordinating wealth for multigenerational families on the Eastern Shore. She leads the firm and chairs every family engagement personally.
Her work is at the intersection of investments, estate structure, and the daily operations of a family's financial life, the kind of work that is most useful when no one has to think about it for a decade.
Beth holds the CFP® and CTFA designations. She lives in Talbot County with her family.
Client Advisor
Gretchen Straczewski
Gretchen Straczewski works alongside Beth on portfolio oversight, planning, and the day-to-day of client service. Families know her as the steady second voice on every important call.
She is responsible for consolidated reporting, cash flow coordination, and the quiet operational architecture that ties a family's accounts and advisors together.
Client Services Specialist
Donna Baynard
Donna Baynard is, for most families, the first voice they hear when they call Tred Avon Family Wealth. As Client Services Specialist, she keeps the office running: scheduling, correspondence, document handling, and the countless small details that let a visit or a phone call feel effortless.
Her work sits quietly behind everything the advisory team does, from preparing for client meetings to keeping records in good order, so that nothing which matters to a family is ever left to chance. She is based in the firm's Easton office, on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
